It's not entirely out of the question that Sony may be rethinking their marketing strategy in regards to portable consoles behind closed doors, but still somehow I feel that whatever they come up with will be attached to the PS5. That's their main investment. Whereas, for example, even Microsoft have become more flexible, adjusting to the needs of the market.
There is definitely high profit to be made from the home console sales market, it's nowhere near gone. But I think that the Steam Deck opens up an entire door of possibilities. And it is those possibilities that will create an upset in the industry and could even change the balance in regards to who the dominant player in the hardware sales market is.
