As the year comes to an end, it is the perfect time to take a good hard look in the mirror and decide what we would like to change. Not that we ever do but, hey, it’s always good to have aspirations!
Yet another year has come and gone. With the whole pandemic situation looming over our heads, it just makes it seem even shorter. It’s as if all we’ve done this year is wait for one situation to end, only to get hit with another.
Even now, as we’re about to leave the year behind, we’re saturated with news of cases exceeding the tens of thousands on a daily basis, with health systems no longer able to deal with the influx of people getting tested and waiting to see their results. So who even knows how accurate those numbers are..?
But enough about that! This isn’t what this article is about! This is about the time-old tradition of introducing a whole new part of ourselves along with the new year. Of turning a new leaf. Of embracing the opportunity to change what we don’t like about ourselves and explore new potentials.
Even if what we decided to change never actually comes to pass, there’s nothing wrong with thinking about it or even sharing these thoughts out loud. So, in the spirit of the new year (2022), these are my 22 personal resolutions for the upcoming 12 months:
